Every year teachers manage to prepare their students for college and their careers ahead. This is all thanks to the avid program. Avid students and teachers have recently come together to provide a showcase for the administrators and avid coordinators to show how beneficial avid is to students in SCHS.

Avid is a college-readiness program made to prepare students for success and higher education. During the Avid showcase students who spoke mentioned how useful avid was. Many of the student’s speakers mentioned, “I love college it’s great and Avid helped me prepare, especially the planners” It seems that Avid has a few organizational strategies set to keep students all together. Another teacher, Mrs. Del Rio, says, “Great program to give teachers and students structure.” Further proving the point that avid is skills provide resources to build organizational skills.

Although Avid is big on college prep that’s not the only thing they focus on. Ms. Domres one of the Avid teachers for SCHS states, “Avids goal is to break down barriers for students.” Meaning that Avid pushes students to be better and do things that they usually wouldn’t. Pushing the boundaries and breaking barriers is all a part of becoming your best self. The principles taught by Avid can be seen by the students as they stand tall Infront of administrators during the showcase.

Students and teachers who represented by speaking during the showcase also did amazing as said by Ms. Domres “The showcase went well and proves that the future of St. Cloud high schools’ avid program is bright.” Amazing news for any students in St. Cloud High school who want to join Avid and plan their college and career ahead of time.
