Another week has passed at SCHS and there have been some big victories for the Bulldogs this past week. Fall sports are coming to an end, but soon winter sports are going to start meaning there is more to come.

The Bulldog Football team had an away game versus Victory Christian Academy on October 30th. Last year the team had a tough 30-6 loss against Victory Christian and were looking to get a payback win on the 30th to boost their winning record. The point scoring happened fast for the bulldogs: Garret King had five yard touchdown pass to Jack Rilling in the first quarter which gave the Bulldogs the lead. Anthony Gonzalez caught a 20 yard touchdown pass to make the score 12-0 and give the Bulldogs an early two touchdown lead. Victory Christian scored a touchdown and the bulldogs had a field goal to made it a 15-7 game. The next run was an important one for the Dawgs as they needed a touchdown to make victory out of reach for Victory Christian. Patrick Forsyth had an incredible 53 yard touchdown to help secure the win for SCHS. A couple more defensive plays and a fumble recovery kept Victory Christian at 7 points. The Bulldogs had a total of 429 yards and Victory Christian had a total 257 yards, almost half of the Bulldogs. The final score of the game was 29-7 and gave SCHS their fifth win, now having a record of 5-2.

Boys' and girls' soccer have been practicing for their new winter season and have games coming next week on October 10th at East Ridge High School for the girls and a home game versus Gateway High School for the boys. Try to go out and see those games next week and support SCHS Soccer.

Girls' varsity soccer had the first game of the winter sports season at Auburndale High School. It may not be cold enough for it to be called winter but at least it is nice and warm for the Lady Bulldogs' first game. The Lady Bulldogs had 15 wins, 7 losses, and 3 ties last season and they are hoping to do just as well or even better this year. Auburndale had 10 wins, 8 losses, and 4 ties in their last soccer season and in their last matchup the Lady Bulldogs won 5-4. This game did not go as well as the Lady Bulldogs hoped for. Auburndale scored three times in the first half of the game, but the scoring did not spot there. Auburndale got three more points in the second half to make the final score 0-6, giving the Lady Bulldogs their first loss of the season.

Next week, boys' soccer gets their first game of the season against Gateway High School on November 12th. Football gets their last home game against Akelynn’s Angels Christian Academy on November 6th. All these sports and more are happening next week for SCHS and will be covered here on The Cloud.
