The Bulldogs had another week of play in all sports this past week. Girls' and boys' soccer had games this past week in their early season, JV and varsity girls' basketball have their first games of the season and are looking to go for a state title, and football had the first of their last three games of the season against Liberty High School on November 13th. The Bulldogs were looking for wins so let's find out if they got what they hoped for.

Boys' soccer had their first game of the season against Gateway High School at SCHS on November 14th. Bulldog Soccer were hoping to have a good start to their season and thankfully they did. The Gateway Panthers scored a goal in the first half and had a 1-0 lead going into the second half. During the second half, the Bulldogs pulled ahead in the game and scored three goals, two by Fabrizio Lucia and one by Kevin Prado, and eventually won the game 3-1, giving boys' soccer their first win.

Girls' Soccer had their second game of the season against East Ridge High School on November 12th. The Lady Bulldogs had a loss in their last outing against Auburndale High School and they were looking to have a record of 1-1 on their away games. Last season the Lady Bulldogs tied with East Ridge 3-3 in their only meeting of that season, but things did not go as well this time. SCHS Lady Bulldogs tallied another loss to make their record 0-8 with this loss to East Ridge High School. The Lady Bulldogs had a 0-4 deficit in the first half and it just got worse in the second half when four more goals were scored, making the final score 0-8 in this upsetting defeat for girls' soccer.

Girls' basketball had an amazing season last year, defeating hard opponents and making it into final four of the state title tournaments. That is the closest any sports team at SCHS got to a state title in years, but the Lady Bulldogs are not looking to get third place. They are trying to get the state title this year. Varsity girls' basketball plays Seffner Christian on November 19th at SCHS and the Lady Bulldogs are looking to get this all-star season off to a good start to give them a good push for the rest of the season. JV already started their season against Melbourne Central Catholic on November 17th but did not get the start they wanted as they came up with a loss in their first game. Luckily, the JV team has another home game against Bishop Kenny High School on November 28th. ย

All this and more are to come next week in SCHS sports.
